Zmijavci are municipality in Croatia, Split-Dalmatia county. Zmijavci are settled in Field of Imotski, 8 km south of city of Imotski. Municipal teritory covers 14 km2. This area is governed by a Mediterranean climate with nights colder 3-5 ◦C than in Imotski due to the effect of Vrljika (river known as Matica in Zmijavci). A mean temperature in January is 5,1◦C and in July 25,2◦C. People are mostly engaged in viticulture and agriculture. Natural beauties extend from Blue lake, Red lake and river Vrljika to the beautiful fields and vineyards of Imotski. There are also Church of All Saints, church of st.Joseph and remains of old christian basilica in the area of Bublin. The favourite place for people in love is definitely belvedere Topana. Many famous people have originated from Zmijavci, e.g. famous football player Ivan Gudelj and president of Agrokor group Ivica Todorić. The cult series "Beggars and Sons" were recorded in Zmijavci. |
